Frequently Asked Questions

1.  How Much Will My Rent Be?

   Our units are income based, so rent varies according to your adjusted gross family income.  

 

2.  Is a Deposit Required?

   Yes, we do require a deposit.  Deposit amounts will vary based on the selected complex and the amount of          your rent.  We do allow the deposit to be paid in installments. 

 

3.  What Other Information is Required to Apply?

 It is very important to complete the rental application in full.  Provide us with your TOTAL household      income,   past landlord information, employer name and address, and source(s) of income. We will also require a copy of  your last pay stub, any Social Security award letters, support docket (if received), and copies of bank account  statements.      

 

4.   Is There an Application Fee?

 Yes. There is a $20 application fee for each adult that will be occupying the unit.  This fee covers the cost of a credit bureau report, which is required for each adult applicant. The fee must be paid at time of  application and is non-refundable.  A check or money order must  accompany the completed application.  We do not accept cash.

 

5.  What is Acceptable Credit?

If you have had some credit issues and want to discuss them prior to completing the application, please feel free to call our office to discuss.   We can assist you by explaining our credit/background requirements.  We require acceptable credit and background checks for each adult occupant.

 

6.    Do You Accept Section 8?

Yes, we accept Section 8 housing assistance.   If you do not have Section 8, and want to see if you are eligble, please contact the Community Action Program of Western Indiana.   Their office is located in Covington, Indiana, and they serve both Warren and Fountain counties.   Contact Community Action by phone at          765-793-4881.
